Flagstaff Route?

I just checked out the four routes and the new vegas in 24 event setup is awesome. There is no way I can cover the distance, not even the Arizona route. Having said that, I do think I could handle 275-300 miles or so in 24 hours. Have you guys considered adding a shorter route for the less-gifted riders like myself? Flagstaff seems like it would be close enough to make for an interesting route under 300 miles and I can see how it would link up to Vegas in a similar way than the other routes. Anyway, maybe take a look and see what you guys think.

Hey Dustin... Flagstaff is definitely something I have looked at before for Vegas In 24. I don't think that the route would come in under 300 miles though. You'll have to circumvent I-40 and by doing so you are adding a few extra miles on Route 66 and other places. Once you measure it out, I think it would be closer to the mileage on the Phoenix route. There is also another predicament about having a sub-300 mile route on the race circuit. Vegas In 24 is supposed to be the toughest 1-day cycling event in the world. If we added a sub-300 route, I just couldn't claim that anymore with a straight face. If we can figure out how to add a Flagstaff route that has at least 330 miles in distance and some really decent elevation gain, we'll definitely take a look at that seriously. But Flagstaff - definitely spot on - it's probably the only starting city left that makes sense for the event.
