A bunny hop is an action performed by bicycle riders that makes both wheels airborne simultaneously. It assists riders in jumping over objects such as curbs, rocks, or debris.
It is an invaluable skill for cyclocross, mountain biking, or road riding when potholes or obstacles need jumping over. The bunny hop involves lifting the handlebars and shifting body weight in order to bring the back wheel off the ground. Though it is not frequently used in standard road racing, the bunny hop will come in handy in difficult segments of the race or for triathletes racing through difficult transition zones or courses with obstacles.
