Chainsuck

Chainsuck is when the bike chain fails to leave the chainring when shifting. The chain is jammed in between components, typically in between chainrings or in between the small chainring, and the frame. Chainsuck is common on old or ill-maintained bike components, or while riding aggressively in the mud. It will prevent you from pedaling, damage chainrings or frame paint, and cost you time in a race. It is prevented by keeping your chain clean and well-lubricated, and by maintaining your bike components.
