Cycling is made easier with pedals that clip tightly on your shoe. Clipless pedals are a modern bicycle gear that allows a cyclist’s shoe to directly attach itself to the pedal with the aid of an attachment known as a cleat. They are termed “clipless” as they succeeded the earlier toe-clip models. The system enables cyclists to pedal more efficiently as well as control their direction since they can utilize both downward as well as the upward motion of the pedal. Clipless systems have various float (side movement), tension, and corresponding cleat shapes, meaning they can be set for body movement as well as for added comfort. They are applied in both road bikes as well as in triathletes because they conserve energy over longer distances.
