A small canister of compressed carbon dioxide used to rapidly inflate bicycle tires.
Co2 cartridges are available in repair kits for triathletes and racers who prefer riding light and quick. Co2 cartridges use an inflator head, which is small, and inflates the tire in seconds, faster than with a manual pump. Co2 is useful for racing or for extended rides because pumping with your hands is too time-consuming. Co2 is popular with cyclists because it is fast to use, but leaks from rubber tubing faster than air, so extra air is added later. Co2 cartridges are available in various capacities (16g and 25g), which should be the same as the tire’s air requirement.
