Crosswind

Crosswind is wind blowing from the side rather than from the front or rear. Crosswinds have an impact when cyclists or triathletes move fast. Crosswinds cause someone to veer sideways, which means they constantly have to adapt in order to continue straight. This is particularly difficult in group racing on open routes or in time trials when aerodynamics is critical. Cyclists must adapt their body position and steer in order to counteract the wind. Crosswinds also force riders to shift strategies since they have to alter their speed or method of draft.
