Drag

Drag in sport is the opposition that an athlete experiences from air or water when on the move. It is significant in cycling, swimming, and running. When swimming, maintaining the correct body position and wearing appropriate equipment reduces drag. When cycling, air drag is minimized through the use of special equipment as well as body positions. Drag always resists forward motion, and minimizing drag can increase performance for longer distances.
