Echelon

Echelon is an on-road bike racing line of riders who draft to assist one another against the wind. The riders align in a staggered fashion along the road, with the rider sitting slightly behind and to the side of the preceding rider. This minimizes wind resistance. Echelon requires good bike handling and coordination; echeloned teams are able to travel faster as a unit and shield the front runners from the wind.
