Finish Chute

The finish chute is an official track constructed using lane lines, buoys, or barriers. It directs runners to the finish line or timing pads. It ensures the finish of the race is safe and orderly. The chute narrows the course for open-swimming swims, triathlons, and rowing competitions. This prevents the opponents from over-taking one another or creating mayhem as they race to the finish line. Volunteers often line the chute to cheer and provide information. A well-designed finish chute assists with finishing places, photos, and timing. It also enhances the celebration for sports fans and participants.
