Foam roller is an approximately cylindrical foam or denser material device used for the self-myofascial release. It relieves knots, tight spots, and fascia restrictions.
Endurance athletes use foam rolling pre- or after exercise to promote circulation, increase range of motion, and recover faster. By rolling body weight across the roller, you apply pressure that breaks up adhesions within the muscle, reducing soreness and improving flexibility. The most typical areas to roll include the calves, quads, IT bands, and the back. Through consistent application, the body’s posture patterns can be corrected, injury avoided, and performance improved through the maintenance of healthier and more flexible muscles during training cycles.
