The International Mountain Bicycling Association (IMBA) is an organization that assists in the creation, enhancement, and preservation of mountain bike trails globally. It stimulates access to trails, constructs trails in an environmentally friendly manner, and educates riders.
IMBA originated in 1988. IMBA coordinates with land managers, volunteers, and corporate sponsors to advance good practices for trail design and maintenance. National and local clubs and programs of IMBA assist the community to maintain the trails in good condition and provide safe riding. Its “Ride Center” indicates the best network of trails to the area tourism and businesses. IMBA is the collective voice of all the mountain bike riders, which makes the trails stay open, fun, and beneficial to the future.
