International Triathlon Union (ITU)

The governing body of triathlon worldwide is the International Triathlon Union, also known as World Triathlon. The organization unites national bodies to establish the rules, schedule competitions, and develop the sport globally. ITU oversees the World Triathlon Series, the highest level of competition for Olympic-distance triathlons. The organization also stages competitions according to different ages and paratriathlon and promulgates the rules of coaches, referees, and anti-doping.
