“Junior” is the age group for the majority of endurance sports, commonly 17–18 or below 20 years of age, depending on the federation.
Juniors race on smaller circuits and in categories more suitable to the equipment to acquire the experience before Under-23 or the professional level. Junior triathlon and running categories provide young people with the opportunity to race others of the same age group, learn and advance in safety. National and global junior championships promote talent discovery and provide career paths to professionalism.
