Kickboard is an inflated, paddle-like device swimmers hold in the hands to keep the leg kick separate and concentrate on strengthening it.
By using upper-body assistance, kickboards let the swimmer focus entirely on ankle flexion, hip extension, and leg strength. Kickboard drills are also employed by coaches to correct kicking technique, build lower-body endurance, and maximize overall propulsion. The swimmer uses kick sets during warm-ups, workouts, and recovery as part of an overall training regimen.
