Multisport

Multisport competitions consist of greater than one sport, commonly swimming, cycling, and running all in one prolonged race. Some examples are duathlon (running–biking–running), aquathlon (swimming–running), aquabike (swimming–biking), off-road triathlon, and winter triathlon Multisport competitions challenge athletes to learn to transition between activities, to switch gear, and to handle different energy demands. Training programs incorporate all the sports, the cross-training advantages, and skills to facilitate smooth transitions. The various types and distances—from short races through full Ironman—enable athletes to pick the optimal challenge and develop a resilient and flexible endurance community.
