Passport Control Points or PCPs are designated sites on an adventure racecourse whereby the teams must produce their passport to have it stamped or signed.
PCPs also ensure that competitors stick to the official path and remain in safety. Being without a PCP results in a penalty or getting disqualified. PCPs also serve practical purposes, such as distributing maps, food or medical assistance, and stationed at transitional places where activities shift (such as hiking to kayaking). Keeping track of the route and schedule through PCPs is critical in winning the race.
