A profile sticker is a stick-on label for a rider’s helmet or bike. It displays their race number, class, or their own team logo. Profile stickers aid officials, photographers, and spectators to recognize athletes in mass-start events. They may incorporate a barcode or timer chip to automatically capture data when starting, checking a checkpoint, or finishing. Unlike race numbers that use cloth, profile stickers adhere to the equipment and won’t be blown off by the wind. You might need to pick up and return the stickers after the race to authenticate the participants and tally the results.
