The first pull down in the water following the turn or the beginning in breaststroke swimming is referred to as the pulldown. A single powerful pull down to the waist using the butterfly kick is done by the swimmer prior to switching to the regular breaststroke kick.
This regulation permits swimmers to utilize underwater swimming to accelerate off the wall. The pulldown engages the back, chest, and core muscles to swim faster underwater, and the dolphin kick provides additional force. Performing the movement close to the water assists with the breakout and minimizes resistance. The pulldown practice enables swimmers to swim farther and quicker distances and instructs starts and turns, which are essential for successful breaststroke races.
