Retrogrouch

A retrogrouch is a person who holds back the use of new techniques or technology in sport in favor of the old. In endurance circles, a retrogrouch may shun power meters, GPS watches, or contemporary training theory—instead adhering to so-called “old-school” knowledge. While it may be beneficial to honor tested approaches, an extreme retrogrouch approach may miss evidence-based advances that boost performance, safety, and enjoyment.
