SAG (Support and Gear) is a vehicle—also called the broom wagon—that follows a group of racers, carrying spare equipment, food, and providing assistance in case of mechanical issues or rider exhaustion.
For road cycling and adventure races, SAG vehicles assist cyclists who cannot proceed due to a broken bicycle, an accident, or running out of time. They keep all participants safe and the way clear by collecting athletes and informing the group when the road is clear. For athletes requiring assistance, SAG stops serve as mobile aid stations where they receive food, water, and medical attention without having to leave the race course.
