Sit On A Wheel

To ride on a wheel involves following close behind a rider to benefit from drafting. This reduces wind resistance and conserves energy.

In group and racing contexts, drafting behind another cyclist is a standard tactic for conserving energy for the sprint or for more energetic riding. It will save as much as 30% of energy when traveling at high speeds. It is beneficial when permitted in triathlons and cycling on roads. It forms a part of the strategies in teams. Riding close but without caution will result in accidents, so a watchful approach is necessary.
