A snakebite is a type of puncture which creates two little pinholes in an inner tube. It tends to occur when the tube becomes pinched in between the tire and rim when the bike passes over a sharp object such as a pothole or curb.
This type of flat tire usually occurs when the tire pressure is low and cannot withstand bumps. Snakebites in mountain biking and road biking indicate the need for the right tire pressure. It becomes highly necessary to carry a patch kit, pump, or spare tube to repair these while in the process of training or racing.
