Wetsuit Legal

When water becomes cold to the degree that it becomes possible for wetsuits to be worn by swimmers.

Some triathlon organizations, e.g., USA Triathlon, have wetsuit rules of temperatures below which competitors may wear wetsuits, typically 78°F or 25.5°C. They should not wear wetsuits below this or above it for elite athletes. Permitting wetsuits benefits lesser athletes and enhances safety in cold water environments.
