Wind Up

A wind up is to make something go quicker and quicker until you run or attempt really hard. The rider does not accelerate sharply but develops their speed progressively to attain their optimum. It comes in handy in track racing, sprint finishes, or a brief burst in a quick race. It prevents fatigue and surprises other riders.
